Conditions

An issuer may initiate a dispute under dispute condition 12.4: Incorrect Account Number for the following reason:

  • The Transaction or Original Credit Transaction was processed using an incorrect Account Number.
  • A Shared Deposit Adjustment was processed using an incorrect Account Number.

Dependencies

A dispute is invalid under Dispute Condition 12.4: Incorrect Account Number for the following:

  • An ATM cash disbursement.
  • Straight through processing transaction.
  • Transaction using an account number for which no valid card was issued or is outstanding and for which either an imprint or an authorization was obtained.
  • Chip-initiated transaction containing a valid cryptogram.
  • Mass transit transaction.
  • Effective for disputes processed on or after 19 October 2019, a mobile push payment transaction.
