Print is still a popular communication channel, particularly for some customer segments. Multiple print configurations are supported. |
Print Methods
Print correspondence is transmitted via one of the following methods.
Print Service
This method provides the highest level of automation by integrating with a third-party service provider to fulfill print requests. In this configuration, an API connection exists between QFD and the print service and information are shared between the two systems to facilitate print jobs. With this configuration, the system will generate a Pend for Auto Letter assignment.
Batch Files
When an automated print service is not available, batch files are another effective way to handle print jobs in bulk. With this configuration, QFD generates a zip file on a predefined bases that includes all the letters that have been generated since the previous batch, as well as a companion file that includes the details of each item. Depending on the print service provider requirements, the data included in the file may differ. The timing and frequency of batch file creation is configurable. Typically, these files are delivered via an FTP service, but other options may be available. With this configuration, the system will generate a Pending Batch Mail assignment.
Manual Send
If no print service is available for transmitting letters, a manual option is also available. This option may also be appropriate for smaller operations or those with minimal print use. With this configuration, the system will generate a Manually Send Letter assignment.
