Pulse Case Update

Pulse allows dispute cases to be updated when certain criteria are met.  This page describes the scenarios when this is applicable, what criteria must be met, and how the process is executed.

The case update flow is used to perform the following types of updates for dispute cases.

Withdraw

Case TypeCriteria
Pre-Arbitration

A Pre-Arbitration case may be withdrawn as long as the Pulse Disputes System has not yet communicated a final response.  NOTE: This action will assume full liability for the issuer for the amount of dispute.

Arbitration

An Arbitration case may be withdrawn within 15 calendar days from the processing date of the arbitration request as long as a ruling has not been issued.  NOTE: This action will assume full liability for the issuer for the amount of dispute.

If the PULSE API is not configured, an Execute Case Update assignment is generated and prompts a user to complete the case filing actions via an external system.  If the API is configured, a Pend Case Update Service assignment is generated while a case is created via service call.  If the integration fails, a Case Update Service Failed assignment is generated and prompts a user to perform the action via an external system or retry the service call.
