Pulse Arbitration Response

When arbitration is pursued in Pulse Arbitration, this flow is executed while a response is awaited.  While a response is awaited, the Pending Arbitration Response assignment is displayed.  Pulse will review the case and either acknowledge or reject the arbitration dispute.  If an API is configured, that response is recorded automatically.  If not, a user will need to complete the assignment by recording the response.

  • Acknowledge: Pulse accepts the arbitration case as valid, notifies the opposing party and will move forward with a ruling.
  • Reject: Pulse declines the arbitration case for one of the following reasons:
    • Does not relate to an existing Dispute appearing in the PULSE Disputes System

    • Is a duplicate request for Dispute Arbitration

    • Contains errors or is missing required information

    • Is not submitted timely to PULSE

    • Relates to a Dispute for which Dispute Arbitration is unavailable or has already been closed

If an unsupported response is received, an Arbitration Response Failed assignment is generated and prompts a user to review the details and record a supported response.

If the case is rejected, a Review Arbitration Reject assignment is created and the user is prompted to review the explanation provided by Pulse and either resubmit the case, or withdraw it (see Withdraw below).

When any of these responses are received, a recovery action is recorded in Recovery Action History.

One the case is acknowledged by Pulse, the Pulse Arbitration Ruling flow is executed.

Withdraw

An Arbitration case may be withdrawn within 15 calendar days from the processing date of the arbitration request as long as a ruling has not been issued.  NOTE: This action will assume full liability for the issuer for the amount of dispute.
