Mastercard Recovery Options

Mastercard provides the following conditions for disputing transactions.  The dispute conditions are categorized as shown.  Recovery options may be automatically selected and executed by the system, when enabled.  In some cases, primarily fraud and authorization disputes, recovery options are set based on a number of validations to determine if chargeback rights exists.  Any applicable validation rules are documented in each recovery option.  In other cases, such as cardholder disputes or processing errors, the system will select a particular recovery option based on certain claim attributes.  These defaults for the Mastercard recovery options are defined in Mastercard Recovery Option Defaults.
