Altered Amount
Conditions
The Cardholder claims that the Card Transaction amount agreed to by the Cardholder was altered without the Cardholder's consent or direction.  Following are examples of applicable scenarios:
- Cardholder agreed to the amount indicated on the Transaction documentation; however, a different amount was charged to the Account
- Cardholder agreed to a tip amount, but the Transaction charged to the Account included a different amount
- Cardholder was quoted and agreed to a certain Card Transaction amount, but Account was charged a different amount
- Cardholder was quoted an airline fare, but the Card Account was charged a different fare than originally quoted by the Merchant
Not applicable where where the Cardholder objects to restocking or shipping charges, cancellation Fees or Currency Conversion Rates. If the Card Transaction amount printed on the Transaction Receipt differs from an amount handwritten on the same Transaction Receipt, the handwritten amount shall be considered the correct amount in the evaluation of the Dispute.
Timing
An Issuer or Issuer Processor may initiate a Chargeback within the following timelines as applicable:
- If a Transaction Retrieval Request (TRR) is submitted, a Chargeback must be initiated between 60 calendar days of the TRR initiation date and 30 calendar days of the close date of such TRR.
- If there is no TRR, the Chargeback must be initiated within 120 calendar days of the Processing date of the Card Transaction.
