Chargeback Reason

Disputes raised by Cardmember under rights provided by law and where no other Chargeback rights apply.

Description

Various laws provide rights to Cardmembers over and above those described in this edition of the Business and Operational Policies manual. Where such laws are in effect and the Cardmember claims the rights provided, the Issuer may charge back for this reason, but only where no other Chargeback rights apply.

Conditions

To be used only when the Cardmember alleges that a law or regulation was not followed or when the Cardmember claims the additional protection afforded by such law or regulation and where no other Chargeback rights apply.

Timeframes

120 days from the Network Processing Date of the Presentment

Dependencies

• Cardmember Documentation and/or Issuer Declaration and Issuer Documentation citing the applicable law or regulation.
