Chargeback Reason
One (1) of the following:
- Documentation necessary to investigate a Cardmember inquiry, substantiate a Chargeback, or support a legal or fraud investigation,
- The Acquirer provided illegible or incomplete Documentation, or
- The Acquirer submitted a Fulfillment Notification message, however, the Fulfillment Documentation was not provided to the Issuer.
Description
The Acquirer failed to provide the Issuer with Fulfillment data or Documentation requested as established in Section 7.5, “Fulfillment Data Requirements,”..
Note: A truncated PAN does not constitute incomplete Documentation or Fulfillment data.
Conditions
The following conditions exist for Chargebacks processed under this ISO Code:
- Cardmember must dispute the Charge, and
- The Issuer submitted the Retrieval Request Notification within 105 days of the Network Processing Date of the Presentment, and
- The required information for First Chargeback requested through the Retrieval Request and received in the Fulfillment Documentation is illegible or incomplete, and
- The Issuer stated what required Documentation was illegible or incomplete and why the Documentation is necessary to satisfy a Cardmember inquiry, or substantiate a Chargeback, or support a legal or fraud investigation.
- The required information for Final Chargeback requested through the Retrieval Request and received in the Second Presentment is illegible or incomplete.
Timeframes
120 days from the Network Processing Date of the Presentment
